Home owner Assistance Programs

We believe that home ownership shouldn’t be out of reach for the average family so we’ve developed a number of programs to provide eligible home buyers with a hand-up into home ownership.

Welcome Home Program
Created by Innovative Residential and offered in partnership with Affinity Credit Union and Genworth Financial, the Welcome Home Program provides a non-repayable 3% down payment grant to eligible home buyers with annual incomes between $44,500 – $70,000 without dependents and $52,000 – $70,000 with dependents. This program expands support to families outside of the government supported income ranges.

Tax Sponsorship Program
Developed in partnership with the City of Saskatoon, the Tax Sponsorship Program allows Innovative Residential to contribute non-repayable tax grants towards a household’s property taxes for a period of 10 years.

Mortgage Sponsorship Program Coming Soon!
Innovative Residential recently began to offer a new monthly support program in partnership with the National Affordable Housing Corporation. This program provides support payments that gradually decline over an eight-year period, significantly reducing the monthly costs of home ownership.

Home Ownership Preparation Course
To guarantee the success of each new home owner, Innovative Residential offers privately funded seminars and home ownership training courses through the Home Owner Preparation and Education Course (HOPE Course). The course ensures each first-time home buyer is prepared for the responsibilities that come with home ownership. The course provides useful information to new home owners on maintenance, budgeting and condo living, among other topics.

Seamless Housing Solutions
All of Innovative Residential’s programs are designed to work alongside government programs like the City of Saskatoon’s Mortgage Flexibility Support and Equity Building Programs. In fact, Innovative Residential played an integral role in the development of each of these programs and has the most experience assisting potential home buyers throughout the application process.
